The local nightclub was as lively as ever that night. The bass from the repetive techno beat was practically shaking the walls of the obscure little underground scene, the place nearly packed with the usual crowd of angsty Goths, bright and happy Kandi Kids, druggies, drunkards and just about everything else in between. And yet, despite the crowd, you still manage to pick out a petite red-headed girl weaving her way through the dance floor, a rather large backpack hanging off of her shoulders. You don't know why, but you felt something different about her and you want to follow her to find out more...only to see that she's vanished within the depths of the club...Name: Margaret Tompkins, but she prefers to go by her code name - Binary
Age: 16
Date of Birth: May 10
Gender: Female
Species: Human Technopath
Height: 5'4"
Weight: Whatever is considered petite for that height :I
Orientation: Bisexual
Marital Status: Single
Heritage: British
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Flame Red, with blue and green color streaks
Personality: Very friendly...so long as you don't give her a bad impression and instantly get on her bad side. Other than that, she's basically just a jovial, fun-loving girl, though very rough around the edges. She's incredibly independent and can't stand relying on others for help unless she absolutely has to, but she has no qualms about helping others. She can also be incredibly reckless and tends to live her whole life on the edge, and quite frankly she prefers it that way. She can't stand sitting still in one spot for too long and will often wander around to different places most of the time. She's very loyal to those she considers family (i/e: Angel) and will never do anything to hurt them, even if that meant getting herself hurt in the process. She has a pretty short fuse too and will raise hell if someone pisses her off
Likes: Technology of all kinds, taking things apart, rebuilding things and making them more efficient, her laptop, building machines, playing video games, hacking and collecting all sorts of information (especially if it's for her personal gain), partying, clubbing, drinking (mostly energy drinks, but she enjoys alcohol too), protecting her friends, screwing with the government and traveling
Dislikes: The government and the bastards that had created that program at the asylum in the first place, cops, people assuming she's stupid because of her accent and attitude, guys and girls hitting on her, rules, adults trying to make her act properly (unless it's Angel. She's the only one Binary will listen to), getting her backpack and/or her laptop taken away from her, people taking her headphones, being reminded of how she's an orphan, seeing smart kids getting picked on (especially those that are like her), being used for her abilities for evil purposes
Abilities: Binary is a Technopath. This means she basically "speaks" to any sort of electrical machine and can "hear" its thoughts. She's essentially a walking computer that can hack into anything related to technology. If a machine is acting up, all she would have to do is touch it and it would stop...sometimes all she has to do is just think about it. Her mind is always collecting bits of information from the technology around her and how she's able to store all of it, no one will ever know. She doesn't even understand it herself, but regardless, this makes her incredibly intelligent and a wiz with all modern technology. She's the perfect hacker
Interesting/Unique Characteristics:
Speaks in a Cockney accent. It's basically lazy British (like a hillbilly) and it's often associated with "lower class" British society, though that's mostly a stereotype. She will sometimes speak in Cockney rhyming slang if she's irritated enough and in the mood to confuse someone

She wears a headphone-like device over her ears, which works as a filter for her mind, because it's always collecting electrical information. It helps her control this part of her ability better and function more normally in life. If her headphones get removed and if she gets flooded with too much information at once, she will go into a small seizure of sorts and will actually start speaking in binary code until her headphones are returned to her

That massive backpack she always constantly carries around with her contains a number of technology she's "borrowed", parts from various computers, her laptop, repair tools, her gun, and various other little odds and ends

She's fluent in Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Korean

Is usually seen dressed like a typical cyberpunk, but every once in a blue moon she'll just run around in sweat pants and t-shirts. She also wears glasses, but only on occasion since her eyesight really isn't too terrible

Though she doesn't look it, she's pretty well trained in self-defense and can usually take someone down that's bigger than her
Bio: Binary never used to be the tough-as-nails cyberpunk hacker that she is now. She was once little Maggie Tompkins, a frail little girl that grew up in one of many slums of Britain's more poorer neighborhoods. She was an only child and she ended up losing her mother to cancer at the age of 10, and then got left to starve in the streets by her dead beat father who didn't want to deal with her. However, she was eventually taken to the local orphanage, but her life just kept on spiraling downhill from there. Not only did she have to deal with her power waking up and causing havoc on the orphanage, but she became a rather stubborn and trouble-making little girl in the few months that she was there. One day, a man that looked as if he were a doctor of some sort showed up at the orphanage and made it seem like he was adopting little Maggie. She felt as if her life had just taken a turn for the better...but this was not the case...
The man was somehow aware of the girl's power and he hauled her off to "St. Mary's", which looked like a rather nice hospital for the clinically insane on the outside. Poor little Maggie soon discovered that this was not the case and she was forced into the hospital's secret super soldier program, designed specifically by the government for people with talent like hers. Day after day, she was put through a living hell, and she was just about to end it all when she met one of the other many orphans that had been brought to that awful place - Angel. Maggie, now called "Binary" by the doctors there, saw how bravely Angel fought each and every grueling day in that place and she soon grew a spine and decided to live on just like Angel was. Angel would always tell her everyday that no matter how dark things seemed, there was always light somewhere, but sometimes you had to get up and find it yourself.
This inspired Binary to continue on with the life that she had been forced into and on the day that Angel liberated her and the rest of the orphans, Binary finally found the light she had been looking for - it was Angel. Through all of those five hellish years at the asylum, Angel was always there for Binary, constantly taking care of her and keeping her from losing hope, and that's when Binary felt as though God had returned her mother that she lost. Unfortunately, Binary ended up losing track of Angel when they broke free from the asylum and for a good part of her life, she was shuttled from one foster family to another, until one day she finally decided to just live on her own.
She easily racked up money, using her talents in Technopathy to hack and collect information for less-than-honorable people, but she never saw the harm in it if it helped put dinner on the table and bring down the government that screwed up her life to begin with. Her various connections with gangs and even some members of the Russian and Japanese mafias also helped her on her quest to find the one person she wanted to find again - Angel...and the clues she had been given led her to a very unique house...
